What a ratchet belt actually does differently
A normal belt gives you five or six holes to choose from. Move up or down a size and you're stuck between two of them — loose on one, digging in on the next. A ratchet belt swaps the holes for a fine-toothed track along the back of the strap, so the buckle clicks into place roughly every 5mm. You get the size you actually need, not the nearest approximation.
Four colours, two buckles each
Every belt here — black, brown, tan and blue — comes as a set with two buckle finishes: a polished buckle for formal wear and a brushed metal buckle for everyday. Swap between them on the same strap rather than buying two separate belts. £25 each, genuine leather.
Sizing it without a tape measure
Because the track adjusts in small increments, you don't need to know your waist to the inch — pick the size closest to your trouser waist and the ratchet does the rest. If you're between sizes, size up; there's more track to click into than there is strap to let out.
Where it fits in the rest of the outfit
The belt is the last piece, after the tie, pocket square and cufflinks are settled. Match the leather to your shoes, not the other way around — black shoes take the black belt, brown or tan shoes take the corresponding leather.
